Overhead Door Technician

As an Overhead Door Technician, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of a wide variety of doors and operators. You’ll work on projects in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, using your expertise to ensure that each installation and service call meets our high standards.

Role Overview:

Qualifications:

  • Experience in overhead door installation or similar trades (carpentry, cabinetry, etc.).

  • Familiarity with power tools, and comfortable working at heights.

  • Forklift/Scissor lift certification (or willingness to certify within 3 months).

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Install and service sectional, rolling steel, and one-piece doors, and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose automation and technical issues, providing effective solutions for each unique setup.

  • Customer Service Excellence: Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs and educate on product care.

  • Documentation: Create detailed reports, itemize parts, and document all work electronically.

AUTOMATED GATE TECHNICIAN

Role Overview:

As an Automated Gate Technician, you’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of gate automation systems, pedestrian and vehicular gates, telephone entry systems, and more. From troubleshooting to new installations, your expertise will help keep properties secure and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Install and maintain automated gate systems, including steel, wood, and glass gates, along with telephone entry systems and access control equipment.

  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair automation system issues, gate infrastructure problems, and wiring malfunctions.

  • Technical Expertise: Work with low-voltage wiring, hydraulic operators, and automated controls, adhering to ASTM F2200 and UL325 safety codes.

  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, providing on-site and remote technical support.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed service reports, itemize parts used, and produce quotes for repairs or new installations.

  • Teamwork: Build positive relationships with customers and collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure smooth operations.

  • Education & Training: Construction technology certification or trade apprenticeship program.

  • Hands-on Experience: Experience as a journeyman or apprentice in fields like electrical, mechanical, or welding.

Preferred Experience:

Qualifications:

  • Experience with gate automation systems, telephone entry systems, and access control products.

  • Familiarity with gate manufacturers and installation standards.

  • Prior trades or field service experience, such as electrician, carpenter, or security systems technician.

  • Proficiency with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
